Special Olympics Great Britain
Special Olympics is Great Britain’s largest sports charity for people with learning disabilities and provides year-round
training and competition for athletes of all ages and all levels of sporting abilities.

There is a local Special Olympics Branch covering Sheffield and Rotherham. Sports opportunities in Sheffield and Rotherham
include athletics, swimming, basketball, gymnastics and boccia.

 Within Reach
Within Reach is a well established, Sheffield based charity that aims to increase access to sporting activities for
children and adults with disabilities. Within Reach publishes an annual directory of sporting activities that are open to
people with disabilities. The charity is in the process of producing a website to allow access to up to date information
and advice on how people with disabilities can access sport.
