Sheffield Leisure Library - Open Mondays 10.30 to 12.30

The purpose of the library is to loan leisure and multi-sensory items to people with a profound learning disability and their families This is so that people can enjoy and learn through doing activities together.

The library is now sited at All Saints School Sports Centre, 95 Norfolk Park Road, Sheffield S2 2RU.

• to try out equipment without any pressure to buy, or wasting money on things that aren't used.

The library has been set up as a charity by people committed to providing opportunities for fun and development to adults with a profound learning difficulty. It is supported by the League of Friends, NATLL, Sheffield Mencap and Community Health Sheffield.

A small group of trained volunteers are there to talk over ideas, make suggestions and ensure it runs smoothly.

Membership is £1 to join for a year.

Each item costs 20p for 3 weeks (and 20p for each week it is overdue).

You can borrow up to 3 items at a time.

There is a wide range of equipment. Please look through our catalogue. There are items such as balls (blow-up, soft, small, large) ... vibrating cushions or mattress... keyboards or other musical instruments .... coloured lights and more.
