| Out and About Befriending Scheme |
|

We support people with learning disabilities and people on the
autistic spectrum to go out into the community and take part in
leisure and social activities. Doing this gives people a chance to
get Out and About and also helps to give family carers a short
flexible break from caring.
Out and About mainly runs by organising small monthly group
activities. Volunteers help by keeping people safe, helping people to get involved in the activity and helping people to enjoy themselves.
Volunteers also help with some of the more practical issues like handling money.
A handful of volunteers work one to one, usually in groups, with an Adult with a
learning disability.
We take part in many activities and are always open to new ideas.
Some of the things we do regularly is go to the theatre, bowling groups
on a Saturday, go to the cinema, pop concerts and much more.
Further information about Out and About can be found in the Carers Section.
Pictures of some of our activities can be found in the Members Section.
