Four Gateway Clubs meet every week at Norfolk Lodge to offer people with learning opportunities the opportunity
to meet together in a safe, friendly environment.
Members can choose from a variety of activities such as cooking, arts and crafts, snooker, sports and bingo. Some people come just so they can meet up with old
and new friends or have a dance in the disco.
Gateway Clubs are supervised by two staff members and lots of volunteers, some of whom have been coming to the clubs for many years.
Gateway members come from their own homes, family homes, group homes, or hostels. Around 100 members attend on
an average night.
Some groups have weekend holidays together, and hold social activities like barbecues and pea and pie suppers.
Monday and Wednesday Gateway Clubs are for adults with a learning difficulty.
Tuesday Gateway is for teenagers and twenty-somethings.
Friday Gateway is for young people from 6 years upwards.

To make a referral to any of the Gateway Clubs, please contact the Sheffield Mencap General Office.
You will receive a form to complete, and the appropriate Night Leader will get in touch to arrange a time
to come and look around.
