To increase or decrease text size
on PC IE6 - From the top menu bar, select View and point to Text size
on PC IE7 - From the menu bar underneath the search field, select Page and point to Text size.
on PC other browsers - Hold down the CTRL key and press + or -
on Mac all browsers - Hold down the Command key and press + or -
To switch off preset fonts and colours you can use the following instructions for Internet Explorer.(Similar facilities
exist for other browsers)
- From the top menu bar select Tools.
From the Tools drop down menu select Internet Options.
In the window that appears, at the bottom of the General tab under Appearance select Accessibility.
In the window that appears, check the checkboxes:
Ignore colors specified on web pages
Ignore font styles specified on webpages
Ignore font sizes specified on webpages
Select ok.
This will switch off preset fonts and colours and allow you to use colours and fonts that make the web page
easier and more accessible for you to use.
Changing the font -
You can change the font to your preferred font after switching off the preset fonts and colours.
From the top menu bar select Tools.
From the Tools drop down menu select Internet Options.
In the window that appears, at the bottom of the General tab under Appearance select Fonts.
In the window that appears select your preferred font from the list that appears.
Select ok.
Changing font colours -
You can change the colours of the fonts, background and hyperlinks to your preferred colours after switching off the preset fonts and colours.
From the top menu bar select Tools.
From the Tools drop down menu select Internet Options.
In the window that appears, at the bottom of the General tab under Appearance select Colors.
In the window that appears, uncheck the box Use Windows colors.
Select your preferred colour for the options: Text; Background; Visited (this refers to a hyperlink you have already clicked on); Unvisited (this refers to a hyperlink you have not already clicked on);
Select ok.
Font size may be changed in a similar way.
You may need to refresh your page either by pressing F5 on your keyboard or by pressing the refresh button
which can be found in the toolbar at the top of the browser window.
