Poptastic2 raises £944!

Poptastic2 took place at West Street Live and was a fantastic success! About 150 people packed in including many members, their friends and families and also regular gig goers who were treated to some superb live music.

The gig, organised by Volunteer Coordinator and lead singer of Somewhere in Switzerland, Gareth Hope, featured 8 local bands who all performed for free. Massive thanks to Beggars Empire, Pasta Bakers, Jim Cutts, Anna Haigh, Jawbone, Somewhere in Switzerland, Got it Covered and Gaz Hope who also performed a solo set.

In addition to the live music, there was also a raffle and our special thanks to Sixt who sponsored the major prizes: £50 Cash, £20 Cineworld Voucher, £20 Pizza Express Voucher and a £10 Starbucks. We were thrilled to welcome Catherine Hope from Sixt who joined us for the event. Thanks also to West Street Live and Mentholmans for enabling us to stage the event at such a prestigious venue and to Jason Richford, who compered the gig brilliantly.

Poptastic2 raised £944.14 for our Diamond Jubilee Appeal, which is now standing at nearly £2000. We've got a long way to go to reach our ambitious target of £60,000!!
